Series of 8 photoetchings, 40x30 cm (ea), 2012
Proposal for an Untitled Narrative is a series of prints based on an unusual collection of photographs taken by a wehrmacht soldier during the earliest part of the second World War. These pictures depict a group of soldiers in mostly social settings, providing an insight on how their lives were at the time. The discovery of these photographs led to an attempt to put together a possible story of this group of people, as their identity and fate remains unknown. The original images were edited digitally and subsequently etched to a plate using a halftone, which forcibly breaks down the image in smaller units. Thus, the story remains only a possibility of a narrative conveyed by images on the verge of losing their indexicality.
