Drilled holes on polished zinc plate and frame, 100 cm x 70 cm (ea), 2009
Tryptich for a Sacred Space arises from the previous series of works "Conflicts and Confronts". The drawing within the plates refers to a blueprint of an imaginary, inaccessible place. It consists of three zinc plates that establish a relationship with the viewer by means of their reflective properties, as well as provide a way for the space to be physically, yet ephemerally, included into the piece. The properties of metal document the passage of time; as it accumulates stains from oxidation, the mirror effect gradually fades, distorting and eventually removing the presence of the works' surroundings.
